Black Sea Coast

We are now almost at the Georgia border having travelled along most of the Black Sea coast. Once east of Samsun the road has been within view of the sea for most of the time with occasional mountainous sections to add to the interest. We are certainly away from the tourist route and generating a fair degree of interest from the locals. Received a taste of typical Turkish hospitality today when the owner of the filling station became interested in our journey. He not only insisted on us taking coffee with him but had a member of his staff power wash our vehicles free of charge.

The photo shows our lunch stop beside the river at Boyabat. Parked beneath the old castle we became an exhibit for the local school kids who hung over the wall above us shouting the few words of English they knew. Both annoying but also understandable.
