21st May, Arrived Ljubljana, Slovenia. The trip now seems to be becoming an expedition, the culture has changed slightly and we feel we have travelled far enough to feel with have left our own nwigbourhood behind. Whilst the first two days had been mile eating slogs we are now in a different and varied scenery that make the distances seem less demanding. A wonderful drive through the mountains from Austria into Slovenia. Despite the almost constant rain the scenery was ever changing and very captivating.

Ljubljana is a pleasant city with an historic heart, a castle on a hill and some fine churches by the river. Charming but not in my opinion anything special. This is of course based on a limited amount of time to look around. Still the beer was good as was the food. It has even stopped raining, who could ask for more.
