Now in Turkey, having expected a slow and difficult border crossing pleasantly surprised that there were plenty of smiles and good humour all round. They seemed fascinated that we planned to travel so far and gave up on the task of searching our vehicles when they saw how full they were.

Headed for the city of Edirne, and found a reasonable camp site where we met two other overland vehicles. A couple from Austria heading around Turkey and Azerbaijhan and a Swiss couple, Rita and Ulric also heading to Mongolia and then on to China. Passed an agreable evening in travel conversation with more than a passing interest in Scotch whiskey.

Wednesday, the girls will travel tomorrow to meet us in Istanbul so we travel 100 iles closer to the capital and find an 'interesting' camp site on the shores of the Marmara Sea at a place called Silvir. It seems to be home to a few Turkish beach bums and assorted odd balls. Hey,the sea is warm and the beer is cold, its all good to us.
